These are few 8th grade boys in homeroom. They like to play soccer before school starts, and they come in to homeroom drenched in sweat. They like to gather in front of the fans to cool down.

HOT SEASON...
So, for those of you who don't know much about the weather here in Cambodia, let me break it down for you. There are only 2 seasons; rainy season and hot season. Right now we are at the peak of hot season. WHEW! You know it's hot when after showering you are still sweating, or when your deodorant doesn't seem to be working anymore, or when you crave cold water all the time, or when your tap water (which has no hot option) comes out luke warm, or when the electricity at school is constantly going out because the heat causes the city to use more electricity causing power outages. We are hitting constant temperatures of about 110 degrees, with nothing to cool us down. Let me remind you that to have an air conditioner is a luxury here. I heard a statistic the other day that 80% of Cambodians live without an AC. In America, when it's 110 degrees, no one goes outside. They just stay in where it's cool. Well, here that is not an option. We soak up the heat! I don't mind it so much, but it rained yesterday and drastically cooled everything down. Our tap water is almost cool, lol. I went for a run tonight and I wasn't dripping in sweat after the first 5 minutes. It just reminds me of how we are living in a dry and weary land, where there is no water and nothing to quench our thirst. Only Jesus can satisfy. I go running in all directions looking for something to quench my thirst and satisfy my longing heart. He is a spring of living water, and unlike Cambodia, lol, this spring of water is always available to us as followers of Jesus!
